The steps in reproducing art

Consultation about the final size of the reproduction and the choice of substrate that will give the desired interpretation.
Image capture via photography or scanning of the original artwork.
Print file preparation generally includes clean-up, sharpening, colour and tone correction.
An interactive proofing process between the artist and the printer.
Making the final prints.

Set-up Packages

Set-up packages are available for artists doing reproductions. They include all of the above except the final prints and are a one-time charge. There are no additional set-up charges for reprints at a later date.

Two adjusted jpg files are also included as part of the set-up package at no extra charge: one sized for your website and one suitable for desktop printers.

As a special service to our customers doing canvas prints, we will also create a colour-matched border for the sides.

We also provide a la carte imaging services such as photography, high resolution scans, and digital file adjustments as well as set-up packages without photography. Prices can be found here.

When do I need the reproduction set-up package?

Knowledge and proficiency in graphics hardware and software are needed to create a print-ready digital file that can be used for a successful fine art Giclée. It is an economical choice for individuals not proficient in graphics software and professional photography. The set-up is done once and then we use the same digital file for subsequent prints.

The test print

Unlimited proofs or test prints are included in the set-up package. After you review and compare the initial proofs to your original, we make the necessary adjustments. If required, additional test prints will be done at no extra charge.
